The Week that Was 4th November 2016

Welcome back to the new term. We started with our Mass to celebrate All Saints and we welcomed Fr Brendan and Deacon Michael who lead the Mass. The objective is to look at the Saints as an example to live by.

Most clubs will be in operation this week and the timings are on the front. Year 5 will be performing on Wednesday night at the Derngate as part of the Schools Shakespeare Festival. They are doing a Midsummers Nights Dream. We wish them well.

Not long from now we will announce the dates for the Advent performances because this year is going fast and advent is just around the corner.

Below is a reminder of the charities we are collecting for. We raised £169 for operation Christmas Child and thank you to those children who completed a box. Final number will be announced next week. Tuesday is the very latest.

If your child couldn’t fill a whole shoe box then they can donate a toy by bringing it to the front office. We have a box that needs filling.

Their first task was to choose the charities for mufti days. This year they are:

Autumn 1-Operation Christmas Child                                     Autumn 2-Children are butterflies (Parents Choice)

Spring 1-CAFOD                                                                            Spring 2-World Wildlife Fund

                                                        Summer 1&2 school fund

Finally a reminder to bring tinned or dried food for our harvest collection.

Have a good weekend.

Mr Wilson
