The Week That Was 11th November 2016

“Love's stories written in love's richest books. To fan the moonbeams from his sleeping eyes.”

You may wonder why I would be quoting from Shakespeare's Midsummer Nights Dream? The reason is on Wednesday year 5 performed at the Derngate to a packed house and they were beyond amazing (if there is such a thing).

They did themselves proud and performed to a standard worthy of high praise. We thank them and both Mrs Wroblewska and Miss Scarth for preparing the children to such a high standard.

Next week is Friendship week and an opportunity to focus on how to use your power for good. Each staff member and child has a secret friend. The idea is not to spend money but to make or do small things to brighten someone's day.

Year 6 today lead a very moving assembly of the  importance of remembrance and why we wear poppy's. We marked the 2 min silence and we will remember them.

Have a good weekend.

Mr Wilson
