The Week that Was 18th November 2016
“Friends are the sunshine of life.” John Hay (1871)
This week has been our annual Friendship week. Today we wore it blue to say no to bullying at St Mary’s. During the week the children have been exploring aspects of how to be a good friend as well as keeping yourself safe online. Can you please ask your child what they have learnt or remembered from the week.
An act of friendship is often kindness and we collected 62 shoeboxes that will be delivered to various parts of the world to brighten a child’s Christmas. A huge thank you goes out to all of the children and family members who donated items.
November 20th marks the end of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. On Thursday we had members of the parish and community focusing on the Stations of Mercy. Please ask your child what they remembered.
Finally friendship and mercy are not just for special occasions, they are daily and life changing.
Have a good weekend.
