New News Story

The Week That Was 30th June 2017

We welcomed the new Year R parents on Tuesday evening. We are looking forward to transfer day when we will welcome the new children and your child will get to meet their new teacher and that is on July 10th.

The 40th Celebration last Friday was amazing. The Bishop, Lord Lieutenant and all of the guest were full of admiration for how the school is looking and the atmosphere created by all who attended.

It makes my decision to take on a new challenge very difficult because St Mary’s is a school that touches deep into your heart. We thank all those who attended, especially the PTA who work tirelessly (including clearing up after) because these events are not successes by chance.

We had Mr Dinneen’s wife and Mr Pecks Daughter attend. Both men, who have passed, were the first two Head teachers of this school.  To have members of their family here was a great honour.

Mr Williams our Committee chair received a Papal medal to mark his long service to Catholic education in Northampton. The school also received a Papal blessing from Rome.

Finally, I thank Mrs Merriman and Mrs Auburn who were instrumental in the pre-planning. They too made it a great evening.

Have a good weekend.
