The Week That Was 12th January 2018
What a great week it has been! It was lovely to hear about all of the progress year 4 have been making in their swimming lesson from Mrs Wilson this week. I think we may have a few future Olympians in our school. I had the pleasure of being invited to year 3 on Tuesday to listen to some amazing writing. The children watched a film clip about 'The Little Match Girl.' Their job is to write the narrative for the film. The day was spent generating ideas, planning their work and writing their first drafts. I am looking forward to reading the final pieces. Hopefully we will be able to publish some of their work onto our school website.
Thursday we had the absolute pleasure of participating in a puzzle day. The day was organised by Mrs Curry, our Maths lead and exposed the children to working with children across the year groups in order to solve some mathematical puzzles.
Pacesetters clubs and tag rugby commenced this week. Please can you speak to either Mrs Auburn or Mrs Dodds if your child is in receipt of pupil premium and you would like them to participate. The clubs offer children the opportunity to socialise whilst being active after/before school.
Well done to year 6 for their attendance at Early Morning Booster sessions. Great start to 2018!!!
On another note, I am having more frequent conversations, with parents, regarding the use of technology at home .We would ask you to monitor closely your child when they have access to devices. For any parents using apple technology there are ways to set restrictions. Please see the website attached.
You can use Restrictions, also known as parental controls, to block or limit specific apps and features on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
It is important to remember that there are age restrictions regarding the use of Minecraft, Instagram, Facebook, Roblox and it is important to ensure that child’s age restrictions on games are adhered to.
