The Week That Was 22.01.18

Dear all,

What a wonderful week!

We have had such an amazing week at St Mary’s. The week got off to a tricky start with some police tape cordoning off a section in our reception phase. What could have happened?  The children in our reception class have spent the entire week investigating the crime of the ‘Missing chocolates.’ We have all found ourselves to be suspects. I was interviewed earlier in the investigation and thank fully eliminated due to my shoe size. The chaos continued in year five, the storm had caused chaos on Tuesday afternoon and the children heard reports from their American news reader, Mrs Webb who shared the devastation, which had been caused. Thursday saw the opening of our wonderful library and HSBC Bank by The Lord Mayor of Northampton, Councillor Gareth Eales. We were also joined  by parents, Hugh Williams, Chair of School Committee, Adrian Lee Director for St Thomas of Canterbury Trust Board and Steve Haywood from Apex and Mandy from HSBC Bank. Mrs Cadd offered the school’s thanks to Tina Mathewson, Pauline and Michael O’Neill and Romina and Kaitlin from Year 6 who have all given up so much of their time to ensure the books were on the shelves for all of us to enjoy. Thank you to Mrs Cadd, Mrs Wilson and Mrs Smith for all their hard work on these projects and all of the staff who prepared for our special morning. Well done to year 6 who have been in early each morning preparing for their SATS. Thanks to all the staff and parents involved in preparing the children.

Have a wonderful weekend!

God Bless
