The Week That Was 14.09.18

Dear Parents/Carers

Great first full week back! Children in reception have settled in really well to our new environment and it was great seeing them all on their tour around the school. We are all very proud of you! We are also very proud of Miss Rowles, Mrs Barclay and Mrs Delfino Rice who have helped the children to settle in so well. Enjoy your weekend ladies!

Our kids marathon has been launched in assembly so a big thank you to Mrs Wilson for all her hard work! Time to dust off our trainers and get moving!

So many children have been trying hard this week. I have seen some wonderful handwriting across the school and children have been trying very hard to write in cursive font with their new pens! Well done!

Early morning Phonics has been amazing this

week and children are sharing their tricky sounds with the rest of the school.

I would like to thank you all for embracing our early morning starts. Children are arriving on time and ready to start the school day! I do need to remind parents and carers to stay with your child and supervise on the playground until the adults open the doors at 8.45am. Smooch offers a breakfast club if children need to be dropped off earlier. Tel Nicky 07891919853 for more information.

A reminder to parents and carers of key stage 2 children wishing to take the Sacrament of Holy Communion in May 2019. You will need to contact your local parish priest to ask for details of classes. All preparation takes place in parishes.

Finally, any parent’s carers with children due to start school in reception or year 7 in September 2019, schools throughout Northamptonshire are advertising their open mornings/afternoons. Thomas Beckett’s open evening is on Wednesday 19th September 6:00pm – 8:00pm and I really do recommend a visit. Ciaran Stapleton, the new head teacher is transforming learning across the school. Pop along and have a look.  For those of you wishing to send your children to our reception pop in or telephone the school office to arrange your personal visit

Have a wonderful weekend.

God Bless
