The Week That Was 7th December 2018

Dear Parents/Carers

What a fabulous few weeks we have had! It was great to have so many children attend our first ever sleepover! It was a huge success. The children enjoyed a film and playing games with their friends. The staff were awesome!! A special thanks to Mr Fox, for ensuring everything was well prepared and to Mrs Wilson, Mrs Curry, Mrs Rowles, Mrs Filsell, Mrs Cooke, Mrs Maye and Miss Lorraine.  I think between us, we managed 8 hours sleep in total!  Thanks To Mrs Merriman for starting our season of advent with a wonderful assembly and a special thanks to all of the parents who joined us. Year 5 & 6 have ensured that we are winners in all year groups of the CAT games at Thomas Beckett. Once again, a big thank you to Mrs Wilson and the Thomas Beckett staff for organising and for all of the St Mary's staff who took the children what a wonderful afternoon. It will not be too long before we are opening a cattery! Special Thanks must be extended to Mrs Auburn and our PTA for the new books for year 6 ‘You are Awesome.'  These books will be so important for year 6. I would like to extend a special thanks to year 6 for all of the work they have been doing, selling tickets for our Christmas hamper raffles.

Well done to school council for the fabulous cake sale on Wednesday, more funds were raised for our outdoor play equipment.

Thanks for becoming involved in 'Elf day. Elf day is a national campaign to raise awareness of Alzheimer's. We have a very busy few days ahead of us in the run up to Christmas and it would be lovely to see you all at our Christmas performances. The children are working extremely hard and I would really encourage you all to come and watch. As a parent myself, I understand how difficult it can be with work commitments but as someone reminded me last year, we do not get the chance again.

Remember to follow us on twitter to see our Christmas updates! Have a wonderful weekend. I am looking forward to putting my tree up!
