The Week That Was 25th January 2019

Dear Parents/Carers

We have had a fabulous week. Mr Williams joined us for assembly at the beginning of the week and it was wonderful to see so many families joining us for our year one assembly. The children were all amazing! Thanks to Miss Glenn and Mrs Smith for all their encouragement and support. The children made us all extremely proud. Well done to our Year 3 and 4 children who made a valiant attempt to bring home the CAT, sadly it was not to be. Well done to St Gregory's who won this week. We look forward to seeing how our year 1 & 2 children do in next week's competition. The week ended on an absolute high note!! Children from KS2 participated in the Young Voices showcase at the Genting Arena in Birmingham. Thank you to all the parents who supported and came to school late last night to collect them. The children had an amazing time and so too did the staff, special thanks to Mrs Curry, Mrs Cook, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Aveyard and Miss Nash who made it all possible. I know the staff are definitely ready for a restful weekend. Please look out for all of our information regarding lateness and absence; we will be monitoring both throughout the month of February.

We would like to extend our congratulations to Mr Mark McLaughlin who has been appointed as the new Head teacher of Thomas Beckett School. We are all invited to his induction mass on Tuesday 29th January 2019 at 7:00pm at St Gregory The Great Roman Catholic Church.

Have a wonderful weekend.

God Bless
