The Week That Was
The Week That Was 8th February 2019
Thank you for all your efforts in getting your children into school on time this week. It has been great to have such a prompt start to all of our learning. We will be continuing to monitor children's lateness and attendance throughout the next few months.
I had the absolute pleasure of attending swimming lessons with our year 4 children this week and I was blown away by how much progress they have made since they began their lessons. We have continued to see some fabulous learning in year 1 and 2, we heard some fabulous poems and I have been really impressed with their biographies. The children have been looking at 'Will I am' and writing about his life. I cannot wait to read the finished articles. Year 3 have been extremely busy with their rainforest topic and learning lots about keeping themselves safe online which really has been the focus this week with Internet safety day on 5th February. We ask you to continue to chat to your children at home about the internet and keeping themselves safe online. Reception children had a wonderful day on Tuesday when they celebrated Chinese New Year, a special Thank you to Mr Crosbie for all of the special decorations he brought in for the children and to Miss Rowles and Mrs Barclay for all the hard work and special food that they prepared. Mrs Darwin has been very impressed with the commitment of our prayer leaders who willingly give up their Wednesday lunchtimes in order to plan for key events in the school year. It is so fantastic to see so many children form year 5 and 6 attending this group. Year 6 were invited to attend the Cathedral today in celebration of The Dowry Tour of Our Lady of Walsingham, Mrs Curry & Mrs Merriman reported on how beautiful this service was and how well our children behaved.
Have a lovely weekend!
