“The school offers welcome immediately on approach with an

environment reflective of care and of willing engagement.”

Assessment Report by IQM 2012

We hope you enjoy browsing our website and that you will find it a useful introduction to the life and work of our school.  We are proud to share the many attributes that make our school a place for our children to enjoy achieving in a positive learning environment.

At St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School we aim to help the children to learn, gain confidence, develop self-discipline and to consider and care for others.  We want our school to provide an excellent education in a stimulating and attractive environment within a caring and worshipping Catholic community.

We endeavour to provide a differentiated, broad balanced and motivating curriculum which allows individual pupils to achieve their potential through a rich variety of experience.  Most of all we want the children’s time at St. Mary’s to be a memorable one for all the right reasons.  We want them to gain knowledge and skills, to experience success, to be challenged and to share enjoyment and laughter.  We all need the help of each other, working in partnership, to achieve these goals.

As a fairly small school we are able to develop a close working relationship both with pupils and parents.   All pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential through the support of all members of staff.    We recognise the advantages of parents and staff working together for the benefit of the children and, therefore, try to ensure that staff can be easily approached before or after the school day.

To fully appreciate the special atmosphere of our school community we recommend that you arrange a visit during the school day.   We can assure you of a warm welcome from both pupils and staff.

If you feel that St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School could support and develop your child’s learning I encourage you to arrange a visit to look around our school. This will enable me to discuss any queries you may have.

We look forward to meeting you and your child in the near future.
