Remote Learning 2021

Our staff have worked hard to develop a Remote Education Provision offer so that all children can continue their learning during this period of lockdown. This meets the expectation from the DfE with regards to ‘Remote Education Support’. This outline’s the school’s approach and what each year group will offer each week. You can view each year groups suggested activities by clicking on the Year group links below, which will take you to the relevant timetable of lessons.

We are aware that the majority of the work set requires access to the internet. If, for whatever reason, access to the internet is acting as a barrier to your child accessing their learning, the school will do all it can to support your child. Please make the school aware of any such barriers that you may face.

The Overview

Below you will find details of what to complete and access during the time that your child needs remote education provision.

For each week that remote learning is required, we will provide direction to access:

•             RE Link to Come and See Lessons and additional suggested activities

•             Daily English sessions

•             Daily Maths sessions

•             A reading comprehension task list in order to support children’s daily reading, or specific Reading                  activities

•             Spelling

•             Wider curriculum learning such as Science, History or Geography (dependent on the topic covered                 in class).

For our Reception pupils, this will look slightly different. A selection of activities will be provided online that allow for the areas of learning to continue to be developed at home, and a secure foundation to be embedded.

From time to time we will post additional resources and challenges, which you may wish to complete.

Please be mindful that our teachers and support staff will be in school on a rota for children of Key Workers and those who vulnerable, as such, responses will be timely but not necessarily immediate. For the remainder of the time teachers will be at home and will be contactable via Purple Mash to answer any of your questions. (Details below)

We appreciate that this is a difficult period but rest assured we are here to help in whatever way we can.

Our Child Protection policy still applies, as does our Data Protection Policy.
